How to cancel any streaming subscription (without losing what you're watching)

Streaming services make signup one click and cancellation five. Here's the direct path for every major service — plus how to keep watching the show you started after you cancel.

Netflix

Account → Membership & Billing → Cancel Membership. You'll keep access until the end of the billing period, and Netflix holds your profiles and watch history for 10 months in case you come back.

Prime Video

If you have standalone Prime Video: Account & Settings → Your Account → End Subscription. If it's bundled with Amazon Prime, you have to cancel all of Prime — which also kills free shipping. Consider the standalone $9.99 plan if you only want video.

Disney+

Profile → Account → Subscription → Cancel Subscription. If you're on the Disney Bundle (with Hulu and ESPN+), cancelling Disney+ alone breaks the bundle pricing — be sure that's what you want.

Max (HBO)

Manage Subscription → Cancel Subscription. If you subscribed through Apple, Amazon, or Roku, you have to cancel through that platform — not the Max app itself.

Hulu

Account → Cancel. Hulu will offer a "pause subscription" option for up to 12 weeks, which is genuinely useful if you just want a break.

Apple TV+

Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Apple TV+ → Cancel. Or on the web at tv.apple.com.

Paramount+

Account → Subscription & Billing → Cancel Subscription. Watch out for the "pause" upsell screen — choose Continue to actually cancel.

Don't lose what you're watching

Before you cancel, search the show on Where to Watch to see if it's also available elsewhere. Plenty of "Netflix shows" are actually licensed and available on other services too — you can switch without breaking your watch.

The rotation strategy

Subscribe to one service for 1–2 months, binge what you wanted, cancel, and rotate. Modern streaming pricing makes this far cheaper than carrying four subscriptions year-round, and resubscribing is always one click.
